Overview
Admins can set up password authentication for staff members who previously only had PIN access. This resolves access limitations and provides additional authentication options.
Staff will be invited to setup a password using a shareable link
Even after setting a password, the staff member can sign-in via PIN.
Adding a password provides an additional secure login method, which can be useful in the following scenarios:
A user needs to access Endear on a non-PIN-enabled device (for example, their personal phone or a laptop that hasn't been registered for PIN login).
A PIN-enabled device gets disabled and your team needs a temporary way to sign in.
A user has lost access to all of their other login methods (email, SMS, WhatsApp) and the PIN reset flow isn't available to them.
Even after setting a password, the staff member can still sign in via PIN on a PIN-enabled device — adding a password doesn't remove their PIN.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. From the Home Page, select Staff.
2. Select the pin-code staff member.
3. Select Reset under the password field.
4. Select Copy and share the link with the staff member. For security purposes, the link is only valid for a limited time. The staff member can use the link to setup their password.
