How do I set up a new phone number in Endear?

Learn how to setup a new phone number for SMS communication and/or call forwarding for your brand.

Why should I setup a phone number?

At Endear, we recommend setting up a phone number as one of your contact methods. By doing so, you unlock the following two capabilities:

  • SMS Messages: Setting up a new phone number to send SMS messages enables you to send personalized text messages or configure automated text campaigns to run in the background.

    • Note: Personal numbers or an existing business landline number cannot be used for SMS messaging.

  • Call Forwarding: Setting up call forwarding enables a seamless transition between texts and phone calls, so when customers call the new phone number, they can be automatically transferred to your existing store phone. Learn how to setup call forwarding here.

When you setup a phone number, you can also choose to utilize just one of the above features if that better serves your needs.

Processing Time

Each new phone number requires verification, which can take several weeks especially if your business hasn't been registered with us previously. We recommend setting up your phone numbers as soon as possible to allow for this processing time.

Overview

  1. Navigate to Settings and select Contact methods.

  2. Select +Add contact method, then Setup a phone number

  3. Select a new SMS number to use for communications

  4. If this is your first phone registration, fill out your business information. If you have registered previously, simply select an existing business registration.

  5. Select a phone number, select the team who should have access, and give it a label. Select Continue to submit.

  6. On the next screen, you can review the status of your registration.

  7. Return to the status of your phone number submission by navigating to Settings > Contact Methods > Filter on Registration: Pending.


Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to Settings and select Contact methods

2. Select +Add contact method, then Setup a phone number

3. Select your phone number type. We recommend selecting a phone number that matches your store location.

4. Fill out your brand information or if you have registered previously, simply select the existing business registration.

5. Select a phone number from the available list, select the team who should have access to this number, and input a label so you can easily remember where this phone number is used. Select Continue to submit your phone setup request.

6. On the next screen, you can review the status of your registration.

7. You can return to the status of your phone number submission by navigating to Settings > Contact Methods > Filter on Registration: Pending.
