How to Disable or Re-enable a User

Manage user access by disabling inactive accounts or re-enabling users who need access restored

If a staff member no longer needs access to Endear, you can disable their account to prevent login while preserving their data. This article will help you:

  • Disable a user account

  • Manage the disabled user's customers and conversations

  • Re-enable a previously disabled user

Disable a User

Overview

  1. Select Settings

  2. Select Staff

  3. Select the user you'd like to disable

  4. Under Status, select Disable

  5. Choose what you'd like to do with the user's customers and conversations:

    • Leave all customers & conversations as-is: The disabled user remains assigned to their customers and conversations for reference, but cannot log in

    • Unassign from all customers & conversations: Removes the user from all assignments. Unassigned conversations will appear in the "unassigned" folder

    • Reassign all customers & conversations to a different user: Transfer all the user's customers and conversations to another team member

  6. Select Confirm

4. Under Status, select Disable

Click on Disable

5. Choose what you'd like to do with the user's customers and conversations.

  • Leave all customers & conversations as-is: The disabled user remains assigned to their customers and conversations for reference, but they cannot log in

  • Unassign from all customers & conversations: Removes the user from all assignments. Unassigned conversations will appear in the unassigned folder of your team inbox.

  • Reassign all customers & conversations to a different user: Transfer all the user's customers and conversations to another staff member.

Then select Confirm.

6. The staff member's status will become "Inactive" once disabled.

Re-enable a User

Overview

1. Select Settings

2. Select Staff

3. Select the Status filter and choose Inactive

4. Select the inactive account you'd like to re-enable

5. Under Status, select Enable. The staff member will immediately regain access to their Endear account.
