Overview
Endear's Erase Data feature permanently removes a customer's personal data. This is intended for compliance purposes — such as responding to a GDPR or privacy removal request — not simply to stop contacting someone.
Just want to stop messaging a customer? Use the suppression list instead. Suppression blocks all future messages to a contact while keeping their data intact in Endear.
Erasing customer data
Admins can request deletion of a customer's data directly from their profile:
On the customer's profile, select the three-dot menu in the corner, then select Erase Data.
Review the warning on the confirmation screen and check the box to confirm.
Select Erase Data to submit the request.
The request will be processed shortly. This option is available to Admins only.
API-based deletion
If you manage data deletion programmatically — for example, via an automated Shopify script — you can trigger customer deletion in Endear using the requestCustomerDeletion mutation.
How integrations affect deletion
Important: Deleting a customer from an integration source (such as Shopify) does not automatically delete them from Endear. Because Endear profiles can aggregate data from multiple integrations, deletion must be handled separately in Endear using the Erase Data button or the requestCustomerDeletion API mutation.
GDPR removal requests
For GDPR removal requests, please contact us via chat or email with a list of customers that need to be removed. We will handle the rest.
