Endear flags scheduling clashes on the calendar rather than preventing them. You can always book, move, or reassign an appointment into a time that already has something in it — the calendar tells you, and leaves the decision to you.
Overview
Conflicted appointments are marked with an amber edge and a warning icon on the calendar.
A badge at the top of each column shows how many conflicts that column has.
Select the badge or the appointment to see what the clash is.
Fix the appointment, or select Dismiss to acknowledge the conflict and clear the flag.
What counts as a conflict
A double booking — the assigned staff member already has another appointment at that time.
Blocked time — the appointment falls inside time that has been blocked on that staff member's calendar.
An appointment can have more than one conflict at once, and each is listed separately.
Where conflicts appear
On the calendar grid, a conflicted appointment keeps its usual color but gains a thicker amber edge and a warning icon. In month view, the same treatment is applied to the pill, including pills tucked inside a +N more group.
At the top of each column, a warning icon and a count appear whenever that column has unresolved conflicts. The badge disappears once the count reaches zero, and it does not count appointments hidden by your current filters.
Conflicts are also indicated in list view, so you can spot them without switching to the grid.
Resolving Conflict
When there is a conflict, you can resolve it in whichever way fits. You can move the appointment to another time, assign it to a different staff member, or change the blocked time that is causing the clash — see the article on creating and managing blocked time for how to edit a block. The flag clears on its own once the underlying clash is gone.
If the clash is intentional — a deliberate double booking, or an appointment you want to keep through a blocked hour — select Dismiss on that conflict card instead. Dismissing acknowledges one specific conflict, not the whole appointment. An appointment flagged for two reasons needs two dismissals.
Once every conflict on an appointment is dismissed, the card returns to its normal color, the warning icon disappears, and the column count drops. Dismissals stick — they survive closing the panel, refreshing the page, and signing back in later.
A dismissed conflict comes back if the situation changes. If the appointment it clashed with is moved, or the blocked time is deleted and a new clash appears, Endear treats that as a new conflict and flags it again. There is no way to bring a dismissed conflict back by hand, so dismiss only once you are sure.
Assigning someone who is already busy
When you open the Assigned to list, staff members who already have something booked, or who have blocked time at that hour, stay in the list with a warning icon beside them. They are not hidden and they are not disabled. Choosing one surfaces the clash in the panel so you can see what you are creating, and you can still save.
The same applies when you drag an appointment on the calendar. You can drop it into an occupied slot or into blocked time, and the clash is flagged afterwards rather than stopping the move.
