How to change a team's default contact method

Team default contact methods allow you to customize Endear's default behavior when staff members send messages. Setting these defaults ensures consistent communication channels and streamlines messaging workflows for your team members.

Understanding team default contact methods

Each team in Endear can have default contact methods configured for any channel: email, SMS, and WhatsApp. When a staff member sends a message through a team, Endear will use the team's default contact method for that channel unless a different contact method is manually selected.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. From the Endear home page, select the Settings button below the team name.

2. On the team settings page, scroll down to find the contact method configuration section. To adjust a default contact method, select the "X" button and search for a specific contact method. Changes to default contact methods are saved automatically and will apply immediately to new messages sent through the team.

Important notes

  • Default contact methods are set at the team level, not the brand level

  • Staff members can still manually select different contact methods when composing individual messages

  • Contact methods must already be registered in Endear before they can be set as team defaults
