How to create and use templates in Endear

Create message templates to save time with repeated content like thank-you notes and welcome messages

Overview

Templates are reusable pieces of content that save time when sending repeated messages to customers. They serve as a base layer for creating more tailored, personalized communications. Templates can be enhanced with text, images, attachments, products, and Stories just like any other message. In Endear, you can create templates for email, SMS/text messages, SalesChat, and WhatsApp*.

*Note: A WhatsApp template is not the same as a WhatsApp prompt. WhatsApp templates can only be used in custom/follow-up messages once consent is established. For more information on messaging with WhatsApp, click here.

Here's how to create and use templates:

  1. Navigate to your inbox.

  2. From the Inbox menu, select Templates.

  3. Select Create template.

  4. Compose your template content with desired enhancements

  5. Save and use the template in your messages

💡Tip: Endear provides ready-to-use templates designed for common retail scenarios like thank-you notes and new product launches. Browse these pre-built templates in your Templates library and customize them to match your team's voice and brand.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Select the Inbox module from the left-hand navigation menu.

2. If you are using the new Inbox, select the dropdown menu and select Templates. If you are in the old inbox, select Templates from the left-hand menu.

3. Select Create template button located in the top right corner to begin creating a new template.

4. Fill out the basic template information including a clear template name, template type, and select which teams should access to the template. Then select Next to proceed.

5. Compose your template message content. You can add any enhancements such as Stories, images, attachments, products, or other elements just like a regular message by following the message enhancement guide. Select Save to store your completed template for future use.

Once created, you can insert templates into your messages and continue editing to add personal touches for individual customers.

With Endear, you can add any of the elements of a regular message, such as text, images, attachments, products, & Stories into a template as well. Once you add a template to a message, you can keep editing the to make it feel more personal.

How do I Create a Template?

  1. Click the Inbox module in the left menu.

  2. Click on Templates

  3. Click the New Template button in the top right corner.

  4. Fill out the Name, Template Type (E-mail or SMS) and what teams have access to the template and click Next

  5. Compose the message for your template. You can Add any Stories, images, or other enhancements as well

  6. Click Save
