How to Use Retail Concessions in Endear

Log purchases manually and manage customer relationships from beauty counters, kiosks, and pop-up locations

Overview

Retail concessions is designed for retail environments that operate without traditional POS systems or in temporary/mobile retail spaces. Log customer purchases directly in Endear by scanning the barcode or manually inputting the purchase details. Retail concessions allow you to add important purchase information to create truly comprehensive customer profiles.

This feature is particularly useful for:

  • Brands operating counters within department stores

  • Pop-up shops and temporary retail locations

  • Galleries and studios selling high-value items

  • Any business looking to track purchases outside their main POS

Step-by-Step Guide

1. There are two ways to start logging a purchase. From the Home Page, you can select Log a purchase from the quick actions or from any customer profile, select Purchase from the quick actions.

2. Enter the purchase details.

  • Select the customer if you started from the Home Page

  • Confirm the currency is correct

  • Select the item(s) that were purchased.
    ​Note: If you are on a mobile device, you have the option to to scan the product barcode.

  • Select an integration to link to the purchase

3. Select Save purchase to log the purchase to the customer's profile

Important considerations

What retail concessions does:

  • Logs purchases to customer profiles

  • Creates purchase history records

  • Updates customer lifetime value

  • Enables purchase-based segmentation

  • Provides data for personalized messaging

What retail concessions does not do:

  • Process payment transactions

  • Calculate taxes

  • Generate receipts or invoices

  • Handle refunds or exchanges

  • Manage inventory levels

  • Provide variable pricing or discounts

For actual payment processing, you'll need to use a separate payment system like Stripe, Square, or a traditional POS. Retail concessions is designed to complement these systems by tracking the customer relationship aspect of purchases.

Access to retail concessions

Retail concessions is currently in Beta and needs to be enabled for your account. If you don't see the "Log a purchase" button on your Home Page, contact your Account Manager or Support to request this feature.
