Carriers charge different fees based on how many characters are in the message being sent. In the background, carriers group messages in segments of about 150 characters at a time (remember the days of "message 1/2 and 2/2"!). Simply put, the more segments there are in a message, the more credits it will cost. Note: special characters like emojis take up more space in a message than regular characters, read more here.

Endear allows for you to send a message up to a maximum of 4 segments long, on average most are sending messages between 2-3 segments. Use the chart at the bottom of this article to estimate the number of credits you will spend based on your average SMS message length.

Carriers have one consistent rate they charge for SMS messages containing an image, otherwise known as MMS messages. Because of this, the length of the message will no longer effect the credits spent if that message contains an image. Note: Currently, MMS message sending is only supported in the US and Canada.
