What is opt-out?

Opt-out refers to the process by which individuals can choose not to receive further emails or text messages from a particular sender or organization. In accordance with CAN-SPAM act we are required to provide customers the ability to opt-out of any mass messages that are sent from your brand.

What are Acceptable Opt-Out Rates

We suggest that in any given week less than 3% of your messages sent to customers receive opt-outs or spam complaints.

What Happens if our Opt-Out rate is too high?

If your opt-out rate is too high then you will be restricted in how many messages you can send at once to prevent spam. You may also have restricted Campaign Settings until your opt-rate comes down to an acceptable amount. We will determine when your Brand will be able to have full messaging capacity and different restrictions on a case-by-case basis.

How do I prevent Customers from Opting Out?

While you can't completely prevent customers from opting-out, you can follow best messaging practices to prevent your rate from becoming too high. Here is a list of a few things you can do to

  1. Provide Value: Focus on providing valuable and relevant content to engage recipients

  2. Segment Your List: Segment your email list and send targeted, personalized content to improve engagement and response rates

  3. Leverage exclusivity: Craft your messages such that a customer truly feels that they are connecting with a store associate

  4. Monitor and Adjust: Continuously monitor your messaging performance and adjust your strategy based on the results

Here are some top things to avoid:

  1. Irrelevant Content: Sending content that is not relevant to the interests of your subscribers can lead to high unsubscribe rates.

  2. Over Mailing: Sending too many emails or text messages can overwhelm subscribers and lead them to unsubscribe.

  3. Lack of Segmentation: Not segmenting your email list and sending the same message to everyone can lead to high unsubscribe rates.

  4. Poor Quality Content: Sending poorly written or designed content can lead to high unsubscribe rates.
